1. Summary

FocusSense is designed to work primarily on your device. We do not require you to create an account. Most of your focus data stays on your phone or tablet. We do not sell your personal information.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

By default, the App does not require or collect:

• Your name, phone number, or postal address
• Email address (unless you choose to email us)
• Precise location data
• Contacts, photos, microphone recordings, or camera data
• Payment or billing information within the App
• Advertising identifiers for targeted advertising

3. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

To provide App functionality, the following information is stored locally using on-device storage (Room database and DataStore preferences):

• Focus session records: start/end times, duration, status, routine name, and planned session counts
• Focus step records: step type (focus, short break, long rest), planned and active durations, and timestamps
• Session event logs: pause, resume, skip, reset, and completion events with timestamps
• Session notes you optionally enter describing your focus activity
• Category names, icon selections, sort order, and pinned status
• Routine configurations: names, timer durations, break settings, default routine selection, and sort order
• User preferences: keep screen awake, sounds enabled, and auto-advance routine behavior
• Theme preference: system, light, dark, dynamic light, or dynamic dark
• Streak settings: weekly focus goal hours and which days count toward your streak
• App metadata needed for local operation

This information is used solely to operate features such as the timeline, active session timer, insights, charts, category distribution, streak calculations, and your saved settings.

4. Device Permissions

The App may request the following Android permissions:

• INTERNET— to load legal documents (Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy) and to support future online features configured at api.focuskit.app
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS — to show optional notifications for active focus sessions (Android 13+)
• FOREGROUND_SERVICE and FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE — to keep an accurate focus timer running while the App is in the background

You can deny notification permission; the App will still function, but background session notifications may be limited depending on your device and Android version.

5. Analytics and Diagnostics

In the current version (1.0) of FocusSense, in-app analytics events (such as screen views and feature interactions) are logged locally in debug builds for development purposes and are not transmitted to our servers or third-party analytics providers in production builds. If we introduce remote analytics or crash reporting in a future update, we will update this Privacy Policy and describe what is collected and how you can control it.

6. Information You Choose to Share With Us

If you use Send Feedback, your email app may share information you include in your message, such as your email address, message content, and device details you choose to attach. We use feedback only to respond and improve the App.

If you rate the App on Google Play, your review and any information you provide are handled under Google's privacy policy.

7. Network and Document Loading

When you open Terms & Conditions or Privacy Policy inside the App, the App may download a PDF or load a web page from https://vivaraappstudio.com. This requires an internet connection. Standard web server logs maintained by our hosting provider may record technical data such as IP address, browser or WebView user agent, request time, and requested URL.

8. Backup and Device Transfer

The App has Android backup enabled. Depending on your device settings, your App data may be included in encrypted backups to your Google account or transferred when you move to a new device. Backup behavior is controlled by Android and your system settings. We recommend maintaining your own records of important information if needed.

9. How We Use Information

We use information only to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve App features
• Display your timeline, insights, streaks, and statistics
• Run timers, routines, notifications, and preferences you configure
• Respond to support or feedback messages you send us
• Comply with legal obligations and protect our rights

10. How We Share Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information only in these limited situations:

• When you initiate sharing through your email client or Google Play
• With service providers that help us host our website or legal documents, subject to confidentiality obligations
• When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
• To protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the public, or Vivara App Studio

11. Data Retention

Locally stored App data remains on your device until you delete it within the App (for example, deleting sessions, routines, or categories), clear App storage in system settings, or uninstall the App. Feedback emails we receive are retained only as long as needed to address your inquiry and maintain reasonable business records.

12. Your Choices and Rights

You can:

• Edit or delete sessions, routines, categories, and notes within the App
• Change preferences, theme, and streak settings at any time
• Disable notifications in Android system settings
• Clear App data or uninstall the App to remove locally stored information
• Contact us to ask questions or request assistance regarding your information

13. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

14. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect information within our control. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for securing your device with a lock screen, updates, and safe usage practices.

15. International Users

Vivara App Studio is based in India. If you use the App from outside India, your information may be processed in India or in countries where our service providers operate. By using the App, you consent to such processing where permitted by law.

16. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the last updated date above and, where appropriate, provide notice in the App or on https://vivaraappstudio.com. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised policy.
